Our Pre Kindergarten classes are designed to prepare your child for the academic and spiritual demands of kindergarten. Hope Preschool's pre-k curriculum maintains a healthy balance between academics and social play.
Must be 4 years old on or before September 1st
Must be potty trained
Develop Math Reasoning (counting to 20, number identification, shape & color identification, and patterns
Develop Literacy (identify at least 20 upper and lower case letters, identify 10 letter sounds, rhyming, sight words)
Fine & Gross Motor (write first/last name, refine pencil grip, cut on a straight line, catch/throw a ball, organized games)
Spiritual Development (prayer, New & Old Testament lessons, kindness, sharing)
Our Pre-Kindergarten classes are taught by certified teachers. Classes are offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9AM-1PM. Additionally, a Tuesday & Thursday class is offered during the same time.

Janelle Maher has been a Pre-K teacher with Hope Preschool for 7 years. She has a degree in Elementary Education from Kutztown University. She lives in Lititz with her husband, 2 sons and 2 dogs. Both boys are alumni of Hope Preschool. She enjoys reading, walking and hanging out with her family. Her favorite part of working with children-“They always keep us on our toes. They keep me young and say the funniest things!”
Erica Shellhammer is the Pre-K assistant teacher in Mrs. Maher’s room. She is in her 6th year with Hope Preschool. She lives in Ephrata with her husband and 5 children. Three of her 5 children have attended Hope Preschool. She attended Millersville University for Early Childhood/Special Education. She enjoys spending time with her children, the beach and photography.
Ms. Shelby is the Assistant in the Pre-K class. This is Ms Shelby’s first year as an assistant but has previously substituted with Hope Preschool. Ms Shelby lives in Lititz with her spouse (Justin) and 3 children Mileigh, Bralen and Layla. 2 of her children attended Hope Preschool. Ms. Geris received her CNA in 2014. She enjoys baking cookies and cupcakes, hiking, sewing and camping. She loves watching the children grow, learn new things, reach milestones like writing their names.
Ms. Jen is a Pre-K assistant. She is new to the Hope Preschool Staff this year; but has been a Hope Preschool parent since 2014 and has worked as an assistant during our Summer Camp Program. She graduated from Garden Spot and lives with her husband, Greg and two daughters-Sophie age 6 and Nora age 7. She enjoys reading, writing and taking random adventures. She enjoys working with children “because they are so sincere with their emotions and are usually hilarious.”

Tuesday & Thursday 9AM to 1PM = $210/month
* There is a $50 non-refundable registration fee plus 1/2 of the first month tuition due upon registration. Programs subject to change if enrollment minimums are not met. A discount is available for families with multiple children enrolled at Hope Preschool. Inquire upon registration.
